Independence Day
Posted in news on July 5, 2008 by tropicalstarAmerican Independence Day. It’s just perfect to celebrate it with amazing fireworks accompanied with music. While the music played and the fireworks shoot through the sky, the feeling of being in America and looking at my hubby with a proud face tells it all. This moment renewed the love and pride of what it is to be an American. Let’s celebrate the freedom of America!

Posted in blogthings on June 23, 2008 by tropicalstarThe earthquake in China. The cyclone in Myanmar. The floods in central USA. Typhoon Fengshen in the Philippines. And that is just four of the countless disasters and calamities that have and are happening around the world in recent months. Wars, fires, droughts, tornadoes and storms. There have been so many catastophic events all over the world lately that the American Red Cross has gone broke and people, as rich and generous as they are when it comes to donating in times of need, have grown numb to the call for help. It seems they cannot give enough to assist all those afflicted.
What’s next? Are these signs that the world is gonna end? Or that the Lord is coming back? Are these symptoms of the end of age? Armageddon? What should we do? The future looks so vague. God giveth and God taketh away. Should we live like there’s no tomorrow and make the most of each day? Should we sacrifice and save and be prepared so we can have a good future? Or do we even have a future? One day we are breathing, the next day we don’t know. Will we be able to look in the eyes of our grandchildren and hold them while we reminisce what it felt when our first child was born?
What wil be next?

Posted in news on June 23, 2008 by tropicalstarOne day last week I felt so bored being cooped up inside the house. Summer hibernation. Odd huh! So I dressed myself, (fortunately I can strap my bra on my own now) and off we went riding the bus downtown to visit my workplace and see my boss and coworkers; and at the same time meeting my hubby for lunch.
It was so good to see them all again and to know that they missed me too. But what surprised me the most is how thoughtful and kind my boss is. She surprised me with a get well gift. That is so nice of her. I was really touched. Here is the pic of the gift.It is a Peace Lily Indoor Plant with a get-well-soon balloon attached to it.
Plus there’s something more. She treated me,my husband, and my son for lunch. Wow! She is so super nice! To my boss a million thanks! I waited till I am able to write on my right hand so I can personally handwrite a thank you card to her.
